In angiosperms, xylem consists tracheids , vessel or tracheae, xylem fibres and xylem parenchyma. Tracheae are absent in ptendophytes and gymnosperms. In angiospermic phloem, sieve elements are sieve tubes, while in gymnosperms and pteridophytes sieve cells are found.
