Solution:

The system of equations is consistent, if $ \left| \begin{matrix} 1 & 1 & 1 \\ 1 & 2 & 3 \\ 1 & 2 & \lambda \\ \end{matrix} \right|=0 $ $ \Rightarrow $ $ \lambda =3 $
