Solution:

We have, $i_{b} =\frac{5-0.7}{8.6}=0.5\, mA$
$\therefore i_{c} =\beta_{i b}=100 \times 0.5\, mA$
$=50\, mA$
By using
$V_{C E} =V_{C C}-i_{C} R_{L}$
$=18-50 \times 10^{-3} \times 100$
$=18-5=13\, V$
