Q. For the strong electrolytes $NaOH, \, NaCl$ and $BaCl_{2}$ the molar ionic conductivities at infinite dilution are 250, 125 and 300 $mho \, cm^{2}mol^{- 1}$ respectively. The molar conductivity of $Ba\left(O H\right)_{2}$ at infinite dilution ( $mho \, cm^{2}mol^{- 1}$ ) is.

Solution:

$\lambda^{\circ}\left(\mathrm{Ba}(\mathrm{OH})_2\right)=\lambda^{\circ}\left(\mathrm{BaCl}_2\right)+2 \lambda^{\circ}(\mathrm{NaOH})-2 \lambda^{\circ}(\mathrm{NaCl}) $
$\lambda^{\circ}\left(\mathrm{Ba}(\mathrm{OH})_2\right)=300+2(250)-2(125) $
$\lambda^{\circ}\left(\mathrm{Ba}(\mathrm{OH})_2\right)=300+500-250 $ $\lambda^{\mathrm{o}}\left(\mathrm{Ba}(\mathrm{OH})_2\right)=550 \mathrm{mho} \mathrm{cm}^2 \mathrm{mol}^{-1}$
