Q. For the reaction: $C_{3}H_{8}\left(\right.g\left.\right)+5O_{2}\left(\right.g\left.\right) \rightarrow 3\left(CO\right)_{2}\left(\right.g\left.\right)+4H_{2}O\left(\right.l\left.\right)$
How does the rate of disappearance of $O_{2}$ compare to the rate of production of $CO_{2}$ ?

Solution:

$\frac{1}{5}\cdot \left(\right.ROD\left(\left.\right)_{O_{2}}=\frac{1}{3}\cdot \left(\right.ROA\left(\left.\right)_{\left(CO\right)_{2}}$
$\therefore $ Rate of disappearance of $O_{2}=\frac{5}{3}\times $ Rate of appearance of $CO_{2}$
