Q. For the following reactions, occurring at 500 K, arrange them in order of increasing tendency to proceed to completion (least $ \rightarrow $ greatest tendency)

$1.$ $2NOCl\rightleftharpoons2NO+Cl_{2};K_{p}=1.7\times 10^{- 2}$

$2.$ $2SO_{3}\rightleftharpoons2SO_{2}+O_{2};K_{p}=1.3\times 10^{- 5}$

$3.$ $2NO_{2}\rightleftharpoons2NO+O_{2};K_{p}=5.9\times 10^{- 5}$

Solution:

The greater the magnitude of equilibrium constant, the more the tendency of the reaction to proceed to completion. Hence the correct order of increasing tendency to proceed to completion (least $ \rightarrow $ greatest tendency) 2 < 3 < 1.
