Q. For an isotropic medium $B,\, \mu,\, H$ and $M$ are related as (where $B,\, \mu_{0},\, H$ and $M$ have their usual meaning in the context of magnetic material :

Solution:

When a magnetic material is placed in a magnetic field, the magnetic material gets more magnetised.
Hence, the net magnetic field is given by,
$B =B_{0}+B_{m}=\mu_{0} H+\mu_{0} M$
$=\mu_{0}(H+M)$
