Q. For an ideal gas the fractional change in its volume per degree rise in temperature at constant pressure is equal to $[T$ is absolute temperature of gas]

Kinetic Theory

Solution:

$P V=n R T$ ..... (1)
$P d v=n R d T$ ..... (2)
Dividing (2) by (1)
$\frac{d V}{V}=\frac{d T}{T}$
Fractional change in volume per degree rise in temperature
$\frac{d V}{V}=\frac{1}{T}$
