If another person $F$ comes and starts pulling the cart with a force of $100 \, N$ due west, then the acceleration of the cart will be

Solution:

Due to the five people the net force on the cart is
$F_{1}=100\times 3=300N$ due east
After the force applied by the person $F$ , the net force is
$F_{net}=300-100=200N$
$F_{net}=200=100\times a$
$\Rightarrow a=2ms^{- 2}$
