Q. Find the velocity of the particle moving in a circular path having a centripetal force of 10 N whose mass is 100 g and radius of circular path is 50 cm

Rajasthan PETRajasthan PET 2011

Solution:

Centripetal force for a body moving in circular path is given by
$ {{F}_{c}}=\frac{m{{v}^{2}}}{r} $
$ v={{\left[ \frac{{{F}_{c}}r}{m} \right]}^{1/2}} $
Putting $ F=10N,m=100g={{10}^{-1}}kg, $
$ r=50\text{ }cm=5\times {{10}^{-1}}m $
$ v=\sqrt{\left[ \frac{10\times {{10}^{-1}}\times 5}{{{10}^{-1}}} \right]} $
$ v=\sqrt{50}\,m/s $
