Q. Find the equation of the line through the points $(1,-1)$ and $(3, 5)$.

Straight Lines

Solution:

Here $x_1 = 1$,
$y_1 = -1$ and
$x_2 = 3$,
$y_2 = 5$.
Using two-point form, equation of the line is
$y-\left(-1\right)=\frac{5-\left(-1\right)}{3-1}\left(x-1\right)$
$\Rightarrow 3x-y-4=0$
