Solution:

The plasma membrane has lipid molecules consisting of a hydrophilic head and a hydrophobic tail made up of saturated and unsaturated fatty acid which provides quasi fluid nature to lipid. The membrane protects the cell by acting as a barrier and regulates the transport of substances in and out of the cell. For many of the chemical messengers from other cells these acts as a receptor and mediates the cell mobility, secretions, and absorptions of substances.
