Solution:

In a closed circuit, the amount of current coming out of positive terminals of a cell is equal to the amount of current entering the negative terminal of the cell. So, the currents in the respective closed circuits will remain confined in the respective circuits and hence, the current in $ 2\Omega $ resistance is zero.
