Q. Find out the number of nucleosomes present in a human cell

Molecular Basis of Inheritance

Solution:

One human cell has $6.6\times 10^{9}\,bp$
• $200 \,bp$ forms = 1 nucleosome
$\therefore 1\,bp$ forms $=\frac{1}{200}$ nucleosome
$\therefore 6.6 \times 10^{9}\,bp$ forms $=\frac{6.6\times 10^{9}}{200}=3.3\times 10^{7}$ nucleosome
$=33\times 10^{6}$ nucleosome
$=33$ million nucleosome
