Q.
Figure show a hemispherical shell having uniform mass density. The direction of gravitational field intensity at point $P$ will be along:
Gravitation
Solution:
At point $P$ the gravitational field is such that it must be opposite in direction to that due to an inverted hemispherical shell which when placed on this shell to complete the spherical shell as at interior points net gravitational field is zero for a hollow sphere. Hence only (C) is the possible option.
