Q. Which is not correct about sclereids?

Anatomy of Flowering Plants

Solution:

Sclereids (stone cells) are sclerenchymatous cells which are lignified, extremely thick walled so that the lumen of the cells is almost obliterated. Sclereids are most abundant in soft tissues like cortex, phloem, medulla, fleshy fruits, seed coats and fruit walls.
