Q. Fermentation cannot produce

Respiration in Plants

Solution:

Fermentation does not produce $H _{2} O$ (water). Since, during respiration in the presence of oxygen, the electrons that are removed from glucose are eventually passed to oxygen by $e^{-}$carriers; therefore glucose is oxidised and oxygen is reduced to water. But when oxygen is not present, i.e. anaerobic respiration or fermentation occurs. It does not produce water.
