: Castor fruits shows explosive mechanism in which pericarp after ripening and drying becomes stretched due to some external, mechanical pressure as contact with animals, air, water drops or change in humidity. These fruits dehisce suddenly and seeds are dispersed in a large area. Castor fruits open with a sudden blast.
