Q. Estimate the magnitude of current that passes through a wire, if $0.1\, mol$ of electrons flow through it in $40\, \min.$ (Assume, Avagadro's number $=6.0 \times 10^{23}$ )

TS EAMCET 2019

Solution:

Given, number of electrons, $n=0.1\, mol$ and time of flow, $t=40\, \min =2400\, s$
Current, $I=\frac{n Q}{t}=\frac{0.1 \times 6 \times 10^{23} \times 1.6 \times 10^{-19}}{2400}$
$\Rightarrow I=4\, A$
