Transcription is one of the step involved in the process of protein synthesis. In this process, the DNA is used as a template to construct a RNA molecule called messenger RNA a.k.a. mRNA. This mRNA is then translated to make the protein. Making of RNA from DNA is called as transcription. It needs enzyme RNA polymerase which is dependent on DNA.
