Solution:

Electron microscope was first developed in 1932 by M. Knoll and E. Ruska. It utilises a stream of high speed electrons which are deflected by an electrostatic or electromegnatic field in somewhat the same way that a beam of light is refracted when it crosses a glass lens. Robert Hooke developed the simple microscope when he studied the cell. Robertson (1959) forwarded the concept of unit membrane.
