Solution:

Vitamin ' $K$' (also known as antihaemorrhagic factor) is a fat soluble vitamin. Vitamin $K$ is needed for the formation of prothrombin necessary for clotting of blood. Prothrombin is prepared in liver under the effect of vitamin $K$. It is also synthesised by intestinal bacteria.
