Q. During the analysis of the DNA of an organism having 5386 nucleotides, it was discovered that the percentages of the bases were $A=29\%, \, \, G=17\%,C=32\% \, and \, T=17\%$ . Considering the Chargaff's rule it can be concluded that:

Solution:

According to Chargaff's rule in any double stranded DNA $\frac{A}{T}=1and\frac{G}{C} \, =1$ . That is in any double stranded DNA Amount of Adenine and Thymine should be same, as well as amount of Guanine and Cytosine should be same. Although amount $A+\frac{T}{G}+C$ is mostly not equal to 1, it is called Dissymmetry ratio.
