WBJEEWBJEE 2009

Solution:

Okazaki et al, (1968) suggested that during DNA replication only one strand shows a continuous replication (leading strand), while other strand (lagging strand) replicates in a discontinuous manner, .i.e., synthesizes short fragments called Okazaki fragments. Both the strands synthesize new strand in 5 $ \to $ 3 direction (of new strand).
