Q. During menstrual cycle, the cyclical changes that occur in the uterus is confined to which layer ?

NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2020

Solution:

The uterus, also called the womb, has the shape of an inverted pear. It is supported by ligaments attached to the pelvic wall. The inside of the uterus is called the uterine cavity; its wall consists of three layers of tissues - the external thin perimetrium, middle thick myometrium and inner glandular endometrium. The endometrium lines the uterine cavity and undergoes changes during the menstrual cycle, while the myometrium exhibits strong contractions during parturition.
