Solution:

The gap between meiosis- I and meiosis- II is called interkinesis. Preparation of meiosis- II occurs during interkinesis, but replication of DNA is absent.
Each daughter cell formed from meiosis-I sometimes undergoes interkinesis, where there is no replication phase of chromosomes and no duplication of genes.
