Q. Due to Frenkel defect, the density of ionic solids

BITSATBITSAT 2013

Solution:

Due to the Frenkel defect, the density of ionic solids does not change. This defect does not impact the density of the solid as it involves only the migration of the ions within the crystal, thus preserving both the volume and mass. Due to the Schottky defect, the density of ionic solids decreases.
