DNA fingerprinting involves identifying differences in some specific regions in a DNA sequence called satellite DNA. These sequences of satellite DNA normally do not code for any proteins and they show a high degree of polymorphism which forms the basis of DNA fingerprinting. Polymorphism is the ability to take any form or change in sequence (viz., SNP). Metamorphism is the phenomenon of the transition of certain animal groups from the larval stage to the adult stage. (viz. tadpole to frog). Pathomorphism is a term given for abnormal morphology shown in any part of body and biomorphism is an art form imitating the living organisms.
