Solution:

The constituents of nucleic acids are nitrogenous bases, sugar and phosphoric acid. The sugar present in DNA is D(-)-2-deoxyribose and the sugar present in RNA is D(-) ribose. Due to these D(-)-sugar components, DNA and RNA molecules are chiral molecules in nature.
