Q. Disjunction is:

NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2020Cell Cycle and Cell Division

Solution:

The junction is the point at which two things meet. When these get separated from each other then it is called a disjunction. In mitosis, sister chromatids get separated so it is not found in mitosis. During meiosis, chromosome number gets reduced to half in progeny so it is called reductional division also. Two processes that occur in meiosis one is chromosome separation and second is sister chromatid separation. So the separation of homologous chromosome occurs in anaphase I of meiosis I and in Anaphase II sister chromatids get separate.
