Solution:

Substances having more solute concentration diffuse with low pressure. Pure water with no solute in it shows maximum D.P. Pure solvent has D.P = 1236 atm. Addition of solute decreases the D.P, therefore Solute is some time referred as DPD or Diffusion pressure deficient.
