Solution:

Diaphragms are the contraceptives used to cover the cervical region, and it prevents sperm entry into the uterus. The diaphragm is a dome-shaped rubber plastic cover that has to be fitted on the cervix in the female's vagina to check the entry of sperms into the uterus. These must be kept fit for a minimum of six hours after sexual intercourse. They are smeared with spermicidal jelly or cream each time they are used. At the internal end of the vagina, the vaginal vaults are inserted in an expanded region of the vaginal canal as a barrier for the sperms to enter, but these vaults do not protect against STD's.
