Q. Coupling factor F is found in

J & K CETJ & K CET 2007Photosynthesis in Higher Plants

Solution:

Studies by the freeze-fracture technique show that the outer surface of the thylakoid membrane is covered by large (12 nm) particles and smaller (8 nm) particles. The 12 nm particles are the molecules of coupling factor. They are found only in the unstacked regions of thylakoid membrane. The coupling factor ( $ CF_{0}$ and $CF_{1}$ ) are the components of the ATP-synthesizing enzyme system.
