Given, $7MSD=8VSD$
$\Rightarrow 1VSD=\frac{7}{8}MSD$
$\Rightarrow LC=\left(1 - \frac{7}{8}\right)mm=\frac{1}{8}mm$
Also, $MSR=4mm$
$V.S.R=4$
value $=\left(4+(4)\left(\frac{1}{8}\right)\right) mm$
$=4.5mm$
Hence, $2\alpha =9$
