Statement I : Pollen grains of some plants remain viable for months.
Statement II : Double fertilisation is absent where pollen is shed in $2$-celled stage.

Sexual Reproduction in Flowering Plants

Solution:

In most of the angiosperms, the pollen grain is shed at two celled stage comprising of vegetative cell and generative cell. In such cases, when the pollen grain germinates on the stigma, the generative cell divides and forms two male gametes during the growth of pollen tube. This pollen tube carrying male gametes when reaches embryo sac results in double fertilisation.
