Q. Consider the following reaction:
$[ M ( gly )( en )]^{+} \stackrel{\text { + gly }}{\longrightarrow }\left[ M ( gly )_{2}\right]^{0}$
If reactant has no stereoisomer but product exists in $2 $ stereoisomeric form, then hybridisation of metal $M$ in the product is:

Coordination Compounds

Solution:

If reactant is tetrahedral i.e., $sp ^{3}$ hybridised, the no stereoisomer of reactant is possible. However, two optical isomers of product are. possible. If reactant is square planar i.e., $dsp ^{2}$, then $2$ geometrical isomers of product are possible.
