Q. Consider the following compounds
$\left(\right.1\left.\right)$ $C_{6}H_{5}-NH-CH_{3}$ $\left(\right.2\left.\right)$ $C_{6}H_{5}-NH-C_{6}H_{5}$
$\left(\right.3\left.\right)$ $\left(\right.C_{6}H_{5}\left(\left.\right)_{3}N$ $\left(\right.4\left.\right)$ $CH_{3}-CH_{2}-NH_{2}$

Solution:

Here the basic nature order is given here
$CH_{3}-CH_{2}-NH_{2}>C_{6}H_{5}-NH-CH_{3}>C_{6}H_{5}-NH-C_{6}H_{5}>\left(\right.C_{6}H_{5}\left(\left.\right)_{3}N$
(i) Aliphatic amine is more basic then aromatic amines.
(ii) Among aromatic amines, primary is more basic then secondary which is more basic than tertiary due to delocalisation of lone pair of nitrogen.
