Solution:

Since there is no breakage or branching in the circuit, the current will flow uniformly through both the end points. We can easily find the current through the resistor $300\Omega$ and the same amount of current will be flowing through the $P-N$ junction.
$\therefore $ Current flow is possible and $i=\frac{V}{R}=\frac{\left(\right. 4 - 1 \left.\right)}{300}=\left(10\right)^{- 2}A$
