Q. Consider a copper tube and an iron tube both of finite length. Now, two identical magnets are dropped along the axis of these tubes at a time. Then which of the following statements holds good?

Solution:

In order to oppose the movement of the magnet, both the tubes will induce a current. Since copper is a good conductor of electricity than iron, more current will be induced inside it and the magnet will fall more slowly.
