Coenozoic era is the era of recent life. Coenozoic era, upto the present, has had an estimated duration of about $65$ million years. It could be called 'age of mammals' although it is also marked by great adaptive radiation in birds and insects and the culmination of angiosperms. The era has been divided into two periods - Tertiary and Quarternary.
