Q. Choose the correct statement which describe the position of the point $(-6,2)$ relative to straight lines $2 x+3 y-4=0$ and $6 x+9 y+8=0$.

Straight Lines

Solution:

$L \equiv 2 x +3 y -4=0$,
$ L _{(-6,2)}=-12+6-4<0$
$L'=6 x +9 y +8=0$,
$ L _{(-6,2)}'=-36+18+8 < 0$
Hence, the point is below both the lines.
