Q. Choose the correct pair among the choices given below
Column I Column II
I The graph of the linear equation $3x +7y = 21$ is the line which meets the y-axis at the point? P $(0, 0)$
II The graph of the linear equation $7x +3y = 21$ is the line which meets the x-axis at the point? Q $(0, 3)$
R $(3, 0)$
S $(3, 3)$

Linear Equations in Two Variables

Solution:

The graph of the linear equation $3 x+7 y=21$ meet $y$-axis at point where $x=c$. So, when $x=0$
$0+7 y=21 \quad \Rightarrow y=3$
So, it meets $y$-axis at $(0,3)$
Similarly, graph of the linear equation $7 x+3 y$ $=21$
Will meet of $x$-axis at point where $y=0$ $\Rightarrow 7 x=21$
So $x=3$
So, the point is $(3,0)$.
