Chondrichthyes is a class which belongs to subphylum Vertebrata of phylum Chordata. This class comprises of cartilaginous fishes. These fishes show the presence of a ventrally located mouth. The skin of these fishes is covered by minute placoid scales.
Ctenoid scales and terminal mouth is present in class Osteichthyes.
