: Seeds of some gymnosperm sps. are edible, e.g., Pinus gerardiana (chilgoza), P. edulis, P. pinea, Gnetiim gnomon and Ginkgo biloba. Pinus gerardiana (Chilgoza pine) plants are common in dry valley of North-West Himalayas, Kashmir and quite common in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh.
