The primary structure of protein has peptide bonds only that are resistant to the change in $pH$ . In contrast, secondary and tertiary structure of proteins have covalent bonds, hydrogen bonds that can be easily affected by the change in $pH$ • The primary structure of a protein — its amino acid sequence — drives the folding and intramolecular bonding of the linear amino acid chain, which ultimately determines the protein's unique three-dimensional shape.
