Compounds with same molecular formula but different fucntional groups are called functional isomers and this phenomenon is called functional isomerism
$CH_{3}CH_{2}OH$ and $CH_{3}OCH_{3}$ have different functional groups. (i.e., $— OH$ in alcohol, and $—O—$ in ether), hence they are the example of functional isomerism
