Solution:

During DNA replication, the molecule is copied where both the strands are involved directly. Adenine pairs with thymine and the process is semi-conservative. The original strand is kept intact. During the transcription process, mRNA is synthesized from the template strand of DNA where uracil binds to adenine. Also, the template strand (original strand) is kept intact without any changes.
