Organic Chemistry – Some Basic Principles and Techniques

Solution:

Percentage of bromine
$= \frac{At. \,mass \,of \,Br × Mass \,of \,AgBr \,formed × 100}{Mol. \,mass \,of \,AgBr × Mass \,of \,compound \,taken}$
Atomic mass of $Br = 80$
Molecular mass of $AgBr = 108 + 80 = 188$
% of $Br = \frac{80}{188}\times \frac{0.36}{0.24}\times100 = 63.8\%$
