Q. Carbon tetrachloride has no dipole moment, because

Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure

Solution:

Due to symmetrical tetrahedral structure, the dipole moment of one $C - Cl$ bond in $CCl _{4}$ is cancelled by opposite $C - Cl$ bond. Thus a molecule has polar bonds but zero dipole moment.
