Q. Calculate equivalent conductivity of solution in $Scm^{2}eq^{- 1}$ if resistance of a decinormal solution of a salt occupying a volume between Platinum electrodes 1.8 cm apart and $5.4cm^{2}$ in area was found to be 32 ohm.

Solution:

Applying,
$κ = \frac{1}{\text{R}} \times \frac{\textit{l}}{\text{a}} = \frac{1}{3 2} \times \frac{\text{1.8}}{\text{5.4}} = \text{0.01041 S cm}^{-1}$
We know,
$∴ \, \, \lambda _{\text{eq}} = κ \times \frac{1 0 0 0}{\text{Normality}} = \text{0.01041} \times \frac{1 0 0 0}{1 / 1 0} = \text{104.1 S cm}^{2} \text{ eq}^{- 1}$
